The Demos You Weren’t Meant to Hear
Despite the horrors, we persist.
Happy blog post Monday, for all who celebrate! This time’s a little different, for more reasons than one, but it’s Monday nonetheless.
Let’s start with the main news of the week: I was able to get an ENT appointment earlier than the 25th, and it’s a good thing I did… I’ve come to discover that my vocal cords are in fact cooked for the time being. That fatigue I mentioned last week was in fact nodules (aka “nodes”). Put plainly, it sucks, but as the title says, we persist!
It was actually funny how casual the dr was about it. I’m more worried about it than he was, which is (probably?) a good sign. Tl;dr: rest my voice as much as possible for the next week or two, and don’t be stupid. I’ll try my best on both of those fronts, more updates on that as it develops!
But hey, here’s an upside:
You guys are going to get more music out of me in some form! Because this puts an inevitable stall on album production, I’ve decided I’m going to release some more demos from the 2nd album. Probably just a song or two as the idea is to be out of commission for as little time as possible, as much time as needed.
App updates!
Some of you already know about a huge project that I started last year where I rated every single day of 2025 on a spreadsheet that looked like this:
It was a fun year. That project was so fulfilling, though, that I decided to do it again this year, and make it a little more accessible to my friends and family who were interested in doing the experiment as well!
I have a mobile app version of this project in beta now called Today, and I plan to fully release it to the iOS app store some time in the coming months!
It’s still in active development, so I’m actively taking feedback and ideas in order to make it something you’d actually want to use!
